October's Amazing Autumn Mani Challenge! Day 21: Teacup - OPI "My Boyfriend Scales Walls" & Julep's "Daria"

Two years ago today my Uncle Bob died. He was training for a race (Ironman) and cycling a well-known route in Penticton, BC when he hit a rock or something and went head-over-handlebars. He was wearing a helmet but broke his neck and sustained a severe head injury and died before medics could get there. He was a veterinary specialist, and a super awesome person -- the kind of person who brings light and love into everything he does, a rare quality. I'm missing him hard today. So this post is dedicated to him, Dr. Robert Mason. <3

For Day 21 of the Amazing Autumn Mani challenge, the theme is "Teacup". I have a favourite teacup (who doesn't??) and decided to tackle this challenge head-on. I was surprised at just how perfect the results are!

I dunno, what do you think?? I think it turned out AWESOME! :D

I used 2 coats of OPI's "My Boyfriend Scales Walls" for the base (my fav white polish ever!) and Julep's "Daria" for the stamping. I used a stamping plate by Nailz Craze "NC03" and a Messy Mansion squishy stamper. I topped with Seche Vite. OPI and Julep are both 3-free, cruelty-free and vegan. Seche Vite is not 3-free but it is cruelty-free and vegan.
The teacup is this awesome one from Chapters Indigo (purchase details for all this stuff at the end of the post):

I seriously love this teacup, I use it everyday. :)

Under LED desk lamp.

Indoors, bright cloudy daylight (no sun), near windows.

Outside, bright cloudy daylight (no sun).

Meh. Stupid clouds!

Nailz Craze stamping plate NC03.

I absolutely love how this mani turned out! I think it matches the teacup perfectly! <3

Where to buy this stuff?? OPI polishes are easily found, though this shade might be trickier. It's from the Spiderman Collection from 2012. I bought a few bottles on eBay. Julep polishes can be purchased from their website -- Sephora also carries Julep polishes but with a limited selection. The Nailz Craze stamping plate can be purchased from her Etsy Shop. Messy Mansion squishy stampers can be purchased from her website.
Oh, and the teacup from Chapters Indigo can be found here.

NB: I purchased all these items myself. I have NO affiliation whatsoever with any of the polish/product makers or websites discussed in this post.

  1. The world sounds like a poorer place for not having your uncle in it :( What a sad loss of one of life's beautiful souls: *hugs* to you today.

Beautiful manicure that really matches your favourite teacup! I hope a cup of tea today made things a little better; it so often does :)
