June is Julep Month! Day 21: Denver

Happy Summer Solstice! Today is the longest day of the year -- enjoy it! The weather here in Toronto is amazing, totally perfect! :)

For those of you who don't know or forgot, the July Julep Maven window opened yesterday so make sure to pick your box for July! You have until Tuesday the 24th to make your selections! The theme is "The Poolside Collection" & you can see all the colours/options on Julep's blog here!!
Unfortunately, I think I'll have to skip July (financial reasons). Sad, sad panda. :(

If you're not a Julep Maven, consider signing up! If you have any questions about the subscription box, I'd be happy to answer them for you.

(umm… what's this Julep challenge all about?? click here!)

So Day 21 is "mint". I had a few to choose from and I decided to go with Denver! She reminds me of a seafoam green Vespa.

More after the jump!!
Julep describes Denver as a, "sea foam green crème" and that she is! She was released as a curated set by Julep called May Flowers in May 2013 (It Girl, if you were wondering!).

Even though Denver is a crème polish, I only had minimal streaking on the first coat and none on the second. She self-levels very nicely. Consistency was perfect, not too thick or thin. Cleanup was super easy & minimal. Denver dries to a nice shiny finish (but I always add topcoat for protection).

In sum: my usual mani prep, one layer of base coat (the blue Nail Therapy one), 2 layers of Denver, and one layer of Freedom Polymer topcoat. Just before the topcoat I did a bit of cleanup with a small brush and acetone and applied Julep's Mighty cuticle serum.

Under LED light.

Indoors, bright daylight, no direct sun, near the windows.

Outside, no direct sun.

The sun is on the other side of my building right now & I'm rushing to get this post up because I have a bajillion things to do today. Later on, I will try to get a sunny pic and post it here for you. :)

UPDATE!!
A sunny pic! I still totally love this colour -- but I was doing housework/dishes/etc without gloves on (*badgirl*) so it's a teensy bit dinged up. So sorry! But it's still really beautiful!

Overall, I totally love this colour! I think it's my fav out of this colour range of "mint" polishes by Julep! One more for the backup list! I think I'll be wearing this frequently this summer. :) So pretty and a breeze to work with, who could ask for more?

I purchased this polish for myself. I just checked and Denver is available and in stock on the Julep website. Yay!
Ooh! I just got a text code from Julep (I'm not special, everyone who signs up for texts with Julep gets this!). You can get The Bright Side minis (Denver, Jackie, Avery, Geogia, Eden, and a mini Freedom Polymer topcoat) for only $20 if you add it to your cart & use the code "FUNSUN". This promo code expires June 25, 2014 at 11:59pm PT (or while supplies last). I personally love mini polishes, it's a good way to try different colours out that you normally wouldn't pick for yourself. They are also perfect for travel! Just toss a few in your makeup bag with some polish remover wipes and you're all set. :)
Anyway, cool that Denver is in the set! :)

NB: I am doing this Month of Julep entirely independently. I have NO affiliation with Julep whatsoever. I am doing this just for fun!

Tomorrow will be beautiful! Don't miss it! <3
